Flash #77 Review

While not an amazing story issue - some great action and beautiful artwork hold together this great buildup book.

There is a far greater storm on the horizon than our eyes can see rogues!

We left the last issue with The Black Flash coming after Steadfast, the Still Force user – and we jump right into Flash and allies helping get him to safety. After they succeed, Barry goes around the globe to gather the other users he’s met in previous issues to try and keep them safe from a Black Flash attack.

Williamson uses this issue as a meetup and recruitment story – for both sides of the fight. We see Captain Cold and Heatwave recruit a very powerful, if not insane, Weather Wizard. While we also see Flash grab the Strength and Sage force users to converse with him and the Still force user, – which doesn’t end up as well as Cold and Heatwave’s encounter.

Artwork in this issue has a lot of highs; some great two page spreads, wonderful action and some really standout panels. Not to mention the wonderful variant cover by Yasmine Putri.

While not an amazing story issue – some great action and beautiful artwork hold together this great buildup book.
