Remember when Dick Grayson was Nightwing? He doesn’t. As we’ve been reminded again, and again and again every issue since he was shot in the head by KGBeast back in Batman #55. He’s got a new team of Nightwing’s to replace him though (or ‘Wings as he coined). Which is needed, as Blüdhaven is in a state of disarray as blackouts and rioting are rampant in the city.

A key moment in this issue is the introduction of William Cobb a.k.a. Talon, Grayson’s great grandfather, as he goes undercover to investigate Ric Grayson and then going on to attack one of the ‘Wings.

Jurgens has been working hard at keeping this story-line interesting, and with the introduction of Talon – he certainly has peaked my interest. I just hate reading this book each month and being greeted with the same overly long introduction of what happened to Dick Grayson oh so many issues ago. Great for those just jumping onto the book – not so much for dedicated readers.

Some issues back have had inconsistent artwork and what seemed to be rushed backgrounds. Ronan Cliquet and Nick Filardi have done a wonderful time this issue, with excellent action sequences and filled out atmospheres.

If you can get over the heavy handed reminders – this issue will satisfy your ‘Wing addiction and get you excited for what’s next.
