Damian Wayne is back in Gotham. Going against Bane’s threat to the Bat-Family, Robin infiltrates Gotham on the hunt to stop his Grandfather and Bane. Upon his arrival, he intervenes with Gotham Girl before using my good old fashion magic to stop her and continue his hunt. Meanwhile, Bruce is still recovering with Selina overseas, before being convincing her to join him to stop Bane.

Tom King has been keeping the last few issues tight – and this one almost holds true too. While keeping Robin fun and playful, before confronting Thomas and talking down to him, we see the range he is capable of providing to Damian. However we get lost in dialogue boxes near the end that throws off the satisfying end result of this issue. I’m anxious to see how he resolves this event in the next issue.

Mikel Janín has been a staple in this series and he rarely falters. The artwork is recognizable and beautiful in this issue. Tony S. Daniel had a revered few issues with The Gift story-line – although panned for King’s writing, and it is a welcome return. Colours are beautiful on this issue and even the Gotham cityscape shines in the background. Overall a beautiful issue from the handful of great artists.

While issues with the end conversations are an annoyance, this issue is still a fun and surprising ride for Bat fans and a great addition in the City of Bane story-line.
